CPD

The University of Edinburgh's Academy of Government is firmly committed to the principle of lifelong learning and the need, in the public and non-profit sectors of the 21st century, for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). The Academy is home to a vast amount of expertise, spanning a wide range of subject areas and public policy sectors.

In addition to our current programmes the Academy is in the process of developing a range of Executive Education programmes in public policy and leadership. These programmes will be designed for leaders in the public, private and non-profit sectors who wish to enhance their skills and expand their knowledge through rigorous academic training. CPD programmes will be led by Academy faculty members who design engaging and challenging courses.

"Adam Smith, the father of Economics, who worked and taught in Edinburgh, would surely have approved of the Academy of Government, with its mission to ensure that where the state does get involved in the lives of its citizens it does so with care, thought, and enlightenment"
